Academe Time is committed to ensuring our programs operate as safely as possible – for our students, schools, teachers, and families.
To ensure this, we have created a COVID Policy in line with Victorian Government guidelines and ongoing advice from the Department of Health and Human Services regarding COVID-19. Our COVID Policy takes a Four Step approach to health and safety in our classes, as outlined below.
Limiting contact in the classroom
We are ensuring that our enrolment numbers are strictly limited to guarantee our class sizes comply with social distancing guidelines. Our lesson plans are being adapted to minimise any need for contact or close proximity between students, and our teachers will be enforcing social distancing throughout our classes.
Hand sanitiser for all at the start and end of class
Students and teachers will be required to sanitise their hands at both the start and end of class, with alcohol sanitiser provided by Drama Time. Where possible, students and teachers will be asked to wash their hands with soap and water before and after class.
Sanitising props and costumes
All props and costumes will be sanitised, and laundered if applicable, between each our classes. We will ensure that each prop or costume item is used by only one student in each class to prevent the spread of germs.
All our teachers briefed on protocol
Our team of teachers will be briefed and updated as required on our policy and provided with the relevant cleaning/sanitising products. If a student feels unwell or is known to have come into contact with COVID-19, we ask that they please do not attend their Academe Time class. Our teachers will strictly follow current Covid advice to keep students and staff safe.
